What affects a quote

A page with a few lines, a dense table, and an image-only scan do not take the same work. These details define the request.

01

Text volume and completeness

Give an approximate word or page count and identify reverse sides, annexes, figures, and attachments. A sparse certificate and a dense contract page are different scopes.

02

Source and subject

Say whether the English source is editable, scanned, handwritten, or image-only. Legal, technical, and industry terminology may need reference material and review.

03

Output and timing

Describe the Slovak deliverable, layout needs, receiving organization, and target date. Include any written official-translation requirements for assessment.

What to check before ordering

These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.

Start with a scope description

Use the form to name the document, approximate length, source format, receiving party, and date needed. Note charts, seals, handwritten notes, or text inside images. Do not paste confidential source text or personal identifiers into the initial form.

Distinguish sheets from standard translation pages

A visible PDF page is a sheet of your source, not a fixed amount of text. If you have an editable file, give its approximate words or characters with spaces; for a scan, give the number of sheets and say which are dense, handwritten, or mostly seals. Slovak regulation 491/2004, section 10(5), defines a standard page of translated text as 1,800 characters including spaces and counts an incomplete final page or separate short document as a whole page for its official-translator tariff. That legal measurement does not establish this website’s price or confirm that a particular official translation is available.

Explain the required Slovak output

A readable text file, an editable document, and a layout closely matching a source PDF can involve different preparation. Say which format the recipient accepts. If you have an editable source as well as a scan, mention both.

Separate official steps

If a school, court, registry, or other body asks for a sworn or official translation, a certified copy, notarization, or an apostille, provide its exact instructions. These terms can refer to different services and authorities. The receiving body decides what it accepts; request assessment before assuming a specific service or price.

Plan for the final source version

A revised contract, corrected certificate, or late appendix may change the work after scoping. Identify the version that should be translated and the internal review or filing date. If your team has approved Slovak terminology, describe it at the start.

Common questions

Answers to common questions before you request a quote.

Why is there no fixed price per page?

A page can contain a few words or dense text and tables. Source quality, terminology, layout, and formal requirements also vary. A document-specific review produces a more meaningful quote.

What is a standard translation page?

For the Slovak official-translator tariff, section 10(5) defines it by 1,800 characters including spaces in the translated text, with rules for incomplete and separate short documents. It is not the number of physical sheets in a source PDF and does not set our quote.

Do I need to upload the document to ask?

No. The form asks for your email address, document category, and document name, with optional scope notes. If the actual file is needed to prepare a quote, a suitable review method can be discussed afterward.

Will a shorter deadline change the quote?

Timing can affect what is feasible and how the work is scoped. Include your decision, review, or filing dates so the request can be assessed. No delivery date is promised before review.

Can you quote an official translation?

Share the receiving body and its exact written rules. The required translator status, format, and authentication steps must be checked before the service and price can be confirmed.
