Start with the reader, then the document

An English-to-Slovak translation for a private reader can have different requirements from a document submitted to a Slovak authority. These questions help you request the right scope.

For a Slovak authority, use its exact checklist

A residence application, citizenship file, registry submission, and school process can ask for different records and translation forms. The Slovak Foreign Ministry’s residence guidance requires official Slovak translations for foreign-language documents in the proceedings it describes and separately addresses authentication. The Embassy’s citizenship-by-descent instructions describe their own document and translation requirements. Identify your exact procedure and receiving office before ordering; an ordinary translation should not be assumed to satisfy an official requirement.

For a private or business reader, define the use

A company may need an agreement for review, a product team may need a manual ready for its readers, or a family member may need to understand a personal record. Tell us whether the Slovak text is for internal reading, publication, a contract discussion, or a formal submission. Specify the expected file format and whether tables, diagrams, captions, or layout matter. A recipient can still set its own requirements even when it is not a government office.

Count the complete source before requesting a price

Include the document title, approximate pages or words, source format, and intended deadline. Check reverse sides, seals, handwritten notes, annexes, and image text rather than counting only the main paragraphs. If several documents are connected, list each one and its issuing country. The scope can be reviewed after these basics; a reliable price and delivery date cannot be promised from a document label alone.

Protect the source in the first message

The form asks for your email address, document category, and document name; project details are optional. Do not paste passport numbers, medical details, criminal-history results, full names from a family record, or source-document text. You can add the recipient’s written instruction if you know it. If the document itself is needed to assess the work, we can discuss a suitable review method after the inquiry.

Common questions

Answers to common questions before you request a quote.

What information should I include?

The document type, approximate word or page count, preferred deadline, and where the translation will be used are a useful start. Do not send sensitive files through the quote form.

Can I ask about a certified translation?

Yes. Tell us the receiving organization and its exact requirements. Requirements vary, so we will confirm what can be provided before accepting the project.

Can I get an exact price immediately?

A reliable quote depends on the content, formatting, length, and deadline. Share those details and we can review the scope.
