Document: Business License. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A business license concerns a particular activity, place, issuer, and period; a company formation filing or status certificate answers a different question.
Include front and back, endorsements, restrictions, and renewal notices.
Activity codes, permitted premises, and validity dates should not be broadened.
Ask whether the recipient needs a license, registration extract, or regulatory approval.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
The U.S. Small Business Administration explains that licensing can involve federal, state, county, or city authorities depending on the activity and location. A general city business license may not show permission for a separately regulated profession, product, or facility. Identify the exact issuer, printed title, authorized activity, premises, and any limitations before asking for Slovak translation.
Count the front and back, endorsements, annexes, permit conditions, renewal notice, and any current replacement license. A date, geographic restriction, capacity limit, or activity code may materially qualify the permission. Translation should preserve the printed code and its explanation when supplied; it should not expand an unexplained code or imply the authorization applies in Slovakia. Ask the recipient whether it needs the full license set or a government-issued registry or status record instead.
The SBA notes that license requirements vary with business activity and location in the United States. A translation of a U.S. license communicates what that issuer granted but does not confer permission to operate in Slovakia. The competent Slovak authority, professional regulator, bank, or counterparty decides what evidence and additional registration it needs. Obtain its exact written requirement before arranging authentication or official translation.
Provide the issuing authority and jurisdiction, business activity, document type, number of pages and endorsements, recipient, required translation format, and deadline. Do not put license numbers, premises addresses, or owners’ personal data into the public quote form. Arrange a suitable copy-review process after the request is scoped.
