Document: Certificate of Good Standing. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A good-standing or status certificate reports what its issuer certified at a point in time. An online search result may not be the official certificate.
Check the entity name, registration number location, issue date, seal, and reverse side.
Good standing, existence, and registration are related but not identical phrases across jurisdictions.
Ask whether the recipient sets a maximum age for the certificate.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Ask whether the Slovak recipient wants a certificate of good standing, certificate of status, certificate of existence, certified registry extract, or another document. These labels are not necessarily equivalent across states or countries. Delaware’s Division of Corporations explicitly says its online status search does not generate an official good-standing certificate. Its short certificate states the entity name and status when issued; its long form also lists filing history. This is a Delaware example, not a universal definition.
Record the issuing authority, entity name, jurisdiction, issue date, seal or validation code, and any name-change history. A translated certificate does not refresh an old status. Ask the recipient whether it sets a maximum age or requires a current registry extract. If the legal name changed, mention the amendment or other record that links the names rather than silently substituting the new name in translation.
A certificate issued for use in Slovakia may need authentication and an accepted Slovak translation, but the receiving office decides. For Delaware public documents, the Division explains that filed documents and certificates can have separate certification and apostille steps. Other U.S. states and countries use their own processes. Ask which page or authentication attachment the recipient wants translated and whether it needs the complete history.
State the issuer, short or long form if known, issue date, page count, any authentication page, recipient, required translation form, and deadline. Do not paste entity numbers or private business details into the initial form. The certificate itself should be reviewed through a suitable channel after scope is agreed.

No. It reports the source certificate’s issue-date information. Ask the recipient how recent the document must be.
