What to know
Use this guide when the wording on a product or its immediate label—especially instructions, safety text, quantities, and identifiers—is the central translation task. A full package may also need copy and artwork review.
Include all panels, symbols, packaging variants, and small-print text.
Mandatory terminology and measurements should align with product documentation.
Ask the compliance owner which language and label rules apply to this product.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Identify the product type, intended users, destination market, model or SKU range, final label revision, and whether this is the product itself, packaging, or an online listing. Food, cosmetics, chemicals, machinery, and general consumer products may have different rules. A translator should not infer the governing category from a photograph or promise that one label template works for every product.
Supply front, back, sides, foldouts, inserts, warning stickers, QR-linked text, units, ingredients or components where applicable, claims, symbols, and variant-specific changes. Mark the exact copy approved by the product owner and identify locked brand names, part numbers, or regulatory wording. If the same warning appears on the package and in the manual, the Slovak terms should be compared across both.
The CLP Regulation lists label elements for hazardous substances and mixtures, including the product identifier, pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, and precautionary statements. If this product is in that scope, ask the product or regulatory owner for its approved classification, statement codes, current label artwork, and matching safety data sheet. The Slovak wording should be checked against the prescribed statements and the SDS, rather than rewritten as promotional copy. Sections 3(3) and 4(3) of Slovakia’s Chemicals Act require packaging-label information for the covered substances and mixtures in the state language. The owner should confirm scope and approve the final artwork.
Chemical-label rules have different application dates. Regulation (EU) 2025/2439 deferred specified CLP formatting, relabelling, advertising, distance-sale, and filling-station provisions to 1 January 2028; it did not defer every CLP duty. Ask the regulatory owner which provisions and transitional rules apply to this product and stock before deciding the source version, layout, and release date. A translation does not determine that timeline or make an old label acceptable. Check the current legislation again before printing.
For consumer products within its scope, the EU General Product Safety Regulation provides an example of requirements for clear instructions and safety information in a language determined by the Member State. Product-specific legislation may add or change requirements. The manufacturer or regulatory team must decide which text, markings, and claims are required for this product in Slovakia; faithful translation does not itself establish compliance.
Give panel dimensions, editable artwork, word count, number of SKUs, print constraints, reviewer, and launch date. A product owner should check that line breaks, tiny type, symbols, numerals, and warnings remain legible on the final package proof before printing. Use the quote form for category and scope without publishing confidential formulations or unreleased product details.
How it works
Tell us what the document is, who needs the Slovak translation, and when you need it. The first form does not require a file.
Choose the type and tell us where the translation will be used.
Include the approximate length, deadline, and any instructions from the recipient.
We review the request and may contact you by email if more detail is needed.
Frequently asked
Answers to common questions before you request a quote.
First compare the approved copy, quantities, claims, warnings, and identifiers for each variant.
No. The responsible product and regulatory team must review the final artwork under the rules that apply to that category.
If CLP labelling applies, supply the product owner’s approved classification, hazard and precautionary statement codes, current label version, and matching safety data sheet. The owner decides and approves the required label elements; a translation request cannot replace that review.
The work can overlap. Start here when the product or immediate label and its required information are the main scope; use the packaging-copy guide when carton faces, inserts, promotional wording, and layout variants need a coordinated translation. List both if the project includes both.
