Ask whether the translated text is for due diligence, negotiation, signing, or filing.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Identify the asset or goods, issuing jurisdiction, contracting parties, document date, and intended Slovak reader. Tell us whether the file is a draft for due diligence, a negotiation version, an executed contract, or a document requested for filing. Do not call an unsigned draft a completed transfer. A later signed amendment, disclosure schedule, or closing exhibit may change the operative text.
Price adjustments, specifications, warranties, closing conditions, delivery obligations, remedies, and defined terms may sit in annexes rather than the main agreement. List the schedules, exhibits, side letters, and amendments, and ask the recipient which are in scope. A table of property identifiers or assets needs its headings and notes, not just the numbers. State whether a bilingual layout or an ordinary translated text is requested.
Slovensko.sk explains that, for an immovable-property transfer in Slovakia, registration in the Real Estate Cadastre is the step that establishes or changes ownership rights. A translation of an English purchase agreement is not that registration and does not show that the seller has title. If a Slovak property transaction is involved, ask the lawyer or competent cadastral office which signed instrument and attachments are required; a contract for unrelated goods follows a different path.
For a contract submitted to register a Slovak property right, section 42(1) of the Cadastral Act accepts a written document in Slovak, Czech, or an officially certified translation. If the English agreement is only a negotiation draft or a private reading copy, do not assume this filing rule governs that use. If it is intended as the registration instrument, ask the property lawyer or cadastral department which signed version, annexes, and certified translation form it requires. Translating a draft cannot cure missing legal terms or transfer ownership.
Provide the asset category, document version, pages, annex count, intended recipient, requested output, and deadline. Do not paste purchase prices, account details, signatures, or property identifiers into the initial public form. Translation conveys source wording; tax, title, filing, and enforceability questions belong with the relevant professionals.
