Document: Residence Permit Card. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A card may display status codes and validity dates, while a separate decision or confirmation can explain the legal basis.
Include both faces and any accompanying decision letter if the recipient asks for it.
Permit category, validity dates, remarks, and issuing office may need explanation without guessing their legal effect.
Ask whether the receiving body accepts the card itself or needs a separate status confirmation.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
State whether the source is an English-language foreign residence card, a Slovak-issued card, or a separate notice. Include the front, back, legend, issue and expiry dates, residence category, issuer, and any explanatory letter the recipient requested. A card issued in Slovakia may already use Slovak; do not order an English-to-Slovak translation just because the item is called a residence card.
Residence documents can show a category, employment note, family-member relationship, restrictions, or a machine-readable code. Preserve the wording, dates, and abbreviations on the actual card. Do not expand a code into a legal entitlement unless the issuer’s source explains it. If a decision letter provides the meaning or a later amendment changes the status, ask whether the recipient needs those records in the same translation set.
Since October 1, 2026, section 73b of Slovakia’s Residence of Foreign Nationals Act allows a foreign national to create a digital copy of a Slovak residence document in the Interior Ministry’s mobile app. Its data can be verified through approved technology, and the digital copy cannot be presented for border checks or proceedings under that Act. This is not a general rule that a screenshot replaces the physical card or an English-to-Slovak translation. If your recipient asks for a translation, identify the actual English-language source and ask what document it accepts.
Slovensko.sk describes different residence-card paths for EU citizens and qualifying family members, with different supporting documents. Its overview is not a blanket instruction to translate every foreign card. Ask the Foreign Police Department, employer, school, bank, or other recipient whether it accepts the original card, needs a current status confirmation, or specifically requests a Slovak translation of an English source. Translation does not grant or extend residence.
Give the source country, card or decision type, sides and pages, recipient, exact format instruction, and deadline. Do not enter permit numbers, home addresses, birth dates, or a card image in the initial public quote form. A suitable file-review method can be discussed after the scope is clear.

Include the approximate length, deadline, and any instructions from the recipient.
We review the request and may contact you by email if more detail is needed.
Frequently asked
Answers to common questions before you request a quote.
No. It communicates the source wording; the issuing and receiving authorities determine status and validity.
Identify it in the request and ask the recipient whether it needs the separate decision as well as the card.
Do not assume so. Section 73b provides for an app-created digital copy verified through approved technology, with limits for border checks and proceedings under the residence law. Ask the receiving office which original, digital presentation, or English-language source it requires.
