Document: Settlement Agreement. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A private compromise, signed release, stipulation of dismissal, and court order can be related without being the same document.
Include releases, payment schedules, confidentiality clauses, and signatures or exhibits.
Defined terms and conditional obligations should remain consistent across the whole agreement.
Ask whether the translated text is for understanding, negotiation, signing, or filing.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Tell us whether the English text is a draft term sheet, executed settlement agreement, release, court-filed stipulation, or consent order. Record its date, version, parties, governing jurisdiction, pages, and Slovak reader. Do not describe an unsigned negotiation draft as a final court result. If a later amendment or side letter changes payment or performance, include it in the project inventory.
Releases, payment milestones, confidentiality, non-disparagement, tax allocation, dismissal steps, default remedies, and continuing obligations may refer to definitions elsewhere. Identify exhibits, signature pages, and any linked claim or order the recipient needs. A clause translated alone can omit conditions that limit when a duty arises. Ask counsel whether a partial scope is safe for the intended use.
A 2025 U.S. Court of International Trade opinion describes a stipulation of dismissal and a separate stipulated settlement agreement in one case. That example is not a rule for another court or legal system. Translation of the agreement alone does not establish how the case ended, whether a court retained jurisdiction, or whether the settlement is recognized abroad. Ask the responsible lawyer or receiving authority which record, authentication, and translation form is required.
State the document type, draft or signed status, pages, exhibits, intended use, recipient, and deadline without posting settlement amounts, allegations, medical facts, or signatures publicly. Arrange appropriate file review after scoping. If the Slovak version will be signed, the parties and counsel should approve it against the English text.
