What to know
Sales terms, website-use terms, checkout disclosures, and linked policies may form one customer journey but serve different purposes.
Include definitions, linked policies, version date, and any country-specific addenda.
Payment, cancellation, warranty, and dispute clauses need terminology consistency.
Ask counsel which jurisdiction and audience the Slovak version must address.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Say whether the source governs consumer sales, business sales, subscriptions, a marketplace, or use of a website without a purchase. Identify the selling entity, intended Slovak audience, countries served, source language, version date, and where the text will appear. An internal reading copy needs a different review path from terms meant to be accepted at checkout.
Include definitions, order and payment clauses, delivery or service terms, cancellation and withdrawal wording, warranty language, dispute provisions, schedules, and policies incorporated by reference. Ask whether a checkout screen, order confirmation, price table, or country addendum also needs translation. Keep defined words consistent across pages and retain the source hierarchy when one document takes priority over another.
Your Europe explains that standard consumer contract terms in the EU are subject to fairness and transparency requirements and that online consumer sales carry information duties. A faithful English-to-Slovak translation does not decide whether an English clause is suitable for Slovak consumers or meets applicable requirements. Have the business and qualified counsel approve the final customer-facing wording and the buying flow.
Your Europe explains that transparency of standard consumer terms includes understanding their economic consequences, not just grammatical clarity. Have the business reviewer compare the Slovak terms with the actual price display, billing interval, renewal timing, cancellation steps, and order confirmation. For example, a monthly price displayed for an annual commitment must remain consistent with the approved explanation of what the customer owes. Flag a conflict in the English source or checkout for its owner; do not invent a clearer commercial promise inside the translation.
Name the approved source file, word count, linked documents, editable format, publication channel, reviewer, and deadline. Record who will update the Slovak text when prices, cancellation rules, products, or the English version change. The initial quote form can describe scope without pasting customer data, contract disputes, or unpublished commercial terms into a public field.
