Document: Invoice. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
An invoice records a transaction. A purchase order, credit note, and customs declaration serve different purposes and may need separate treatment.
Include all line items, tax notes, credit references, and reverse-side terms.
Unit names, discounts, tax labels, and payment instructions need alignment with figures.
Ask whether the recipient needs a translated invoice or a newly issued local invoice.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
State whether the source is a sales invoice, commercial import invoice, pro forma invoice, credit note, or receipt. Tell us whether the Slovak version is for a customer, accounts team, customs broker, or another recipient. An invoice for EU VAT purposes can have information requirements that differ by transaction and Member State; the European Commission lists the basic EU fields and points to national rules. Translation of an existing invoice does not create or reissue a compliant Slovak tax document.
Do not assume every English invoice must automatically be translated for EU VAT purposes. Article 248a of the VAT Directive allows Member States to require official-language translations for certain taxpayers or cases for control purposes, while ruling out a general invoice-translation requirement. Ask the requesting authority or your tax adviser which invoices and period are actually in scope. A customer, accounts team, or customs recipient may have a separate practical or procedural request; identify that reason before ordering a whole invoice archive.
Include the invoice number, issue and supply dates, parties, line descriptions, units, quantities, rates, discounts, tax wording, payment terms, currency, and notes. Keep the source figures and identifiers exactly traceable. A translation should not recalculate VAT, convert money, add a missing tax number, or silently fix a mismatch. Ask the issuer for a corrected or credit document when the business record itself is wrong.
A credit note can explicitly refer back to an original invoice, and a commercial invoice may travel with a packing list and transport documents. The recipient may ask for some or all of these records. Check whether attachments, reverse-side terms, signatures, product codes, and explanatory footnotes must be translated. If multiple invoices concern one shipment, list them separately rather than merging them into a new statement.
Give the number of invoices, pages, line items, currencies, source file format, recipient, requested output, and deadline. Mention tables or scans that need layout work. Do not put account numbers, tax IDs, customer addresses, or transaction values in the public form; arrange source review after the scope is understood.
How it works
Tell us what the document is, who needs the Slovak translation, and when you need it. The first form does not require a file.
Choose the type and tell us where the translation will be used.
Include the approximate length, deadline, and any instructions from the recipient.
We review the request and may contact you by email if more detail is needed.
