Document: Cover Letter. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A cover letter may be pasted into a portal, uploaded as a PDF, or sent directly to a named reader; the output must fit that use.
Provide the final English draft, job posting, and named recipient if relevant.
Tone, formality, and evidence of qualifications should suit the employer without changing facts.
Ask whether the application portal has a character or page limit.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
Give the approved English draft, target role, employer or program, vacancy text, recipient name if used, submission method, character or page limit, and deadline. State whether the applicant wants a close translation or separate editing for a Slovak audience. Europass offers cover-letter templates and an editor, but its FAQ says the tool does not translate information already entered. A template also does not replace the receiving employer’s own instructions.
Keep specific skills, projects, dates, qualifications, and claims aligned with the résumé and supporting records. Adjusting a salutation or sentence order for natural Slovak should not change what the applicant says they did. If the English source makes an unsupported claim or names the wrong role, ask the applicant for a corrected draft rather than rewriting the fact without approval.
A letter can refer to a CV, portfolio, qualification certificate, or recommendation. Confirm whether those items also need translation and keep role names and terminology consistent. Ask whether the portal requires plain text, a named file, or a combined application. A translated cover letter does not submit an application or satisfy a recipient’s separate language or document requirements.
State word count, final source format, target role, requested level of adaptation, portal limit, related documents, and due date. Avoid putting personal addresses, confidential employer names, or the full application text into the public form. The final source can be reviewed through a suitable channel after scoping.
