Document: Thesis Abstract. Include the approximate length, recipient, and deadline if you know them. We’ll review your request and may contact you by email about next steps.
What to know
A short abstract still needs the research question, method, result, and limits to agree with the final thesis.
Provide the final abstract and any required keywords or official title page.
Technical terms, statistical language, and discipline-specific conventions need consistent choices.
Ask whether the institution wants only the abstract or the thesis title and metadata too.
Document guide
These notes help you describe your request. The receiving organization’s current instructions should guide the final requirements.
State the discipline, thesis level, institution, final title, abstract version, intended Slovak reader, and whether the text is for a repository, application, examination, or conference. MIT’s thesis specifications illustrate that an institution can prescribe abstract placement and surrounding metadata; the actual receiving institution’s instructions control this request. A draft abstract may describe results or a title that changed before submission.
Supply the approved abstract, keywords, supervisor or department metadata when requested, and a short terminology list. MIT’s writing guidance describes an abstract as a concise account of purpose, method, results, and conclusions, rather than a table of contents. Preserve sample size, statistical qualifiers, negative findings, uncertainty, and the difference between an aim and a demonstrated outcome. Flag any source statement that conflicts with the thesis.
Ask whether the Slovak version needs a word or character limit, prescribed heading, author names, bilingual title, or institutional template. Specialist terms can be checked against the thesis or an author-approved glossary, but rewriting the findings or adding a new claim requires author review. Translation does not peer-review the research or establish that the degree has been awarded.
Give approximate words, subject area, source format, required metadata, recipient, terminology support, format limit, and deadline. State whether only the abstract or title page and keywords are included. In the public quote form, avoid unpublished results, confidential research data, participant details, and embargoed thesis material.
How it works
Tell us what the document is, who needs the Slovak translation, and when you need it. The first form does not require a file.
Choose the type and tell us where the translation will be used.
Include the approximate length, deadline, and any instructions from the recipient.
We review the request and may contact you by email if more detail is needed.
Frequently asked
Answers to common questions before you request a quote.
Ask the recipient; the approved abstract may be the deliverable, while selected thesis context can help resolve terminology.
Shortening changes content and should be separately scoped and approved by the author or institution.
